An invoice is a legal demand for payment. To stand up in court (and typically to get paid by a corporate AP department), it must contain:
- The word "Invoice" clearly displayed.
- Your unique Invoice Number (sequential).
- Your Tax ID / VAT Number.
- The Customer's Name and Address.
- A clear description of goods/services.
- The Payment Due Date.
Missing any of these is an excuse for the client to delay payment.
